The WordPress Developer Blog is seeking contributors to write posts on articles covering React best practices, block testing, lighting in IDE, and extending user profiles using DataViews. These topics are described as broad and flexible, potentially suitable for either long-form articles or shorter entries in the blog’s new “Snippets” format, which highlights quick tips and tricks.
If needed, Interested contributors are also encouraged to pair with others and will receive editorial support throughout the publishing process.
The team has also highlighted that, besides these topics, there are many more that need help, ranging from needing a writer to reviewing those in progress.
To participate, prospective writers can:
- Join the #core-dev-blog channel on Make WordPress Slack
- Attend the editorial meetings held on the first Thursday of each month at 15:00 UTC
- Review the Developer Blog’s writing tips and publishing guidelines
- Track and propose topics via the Developer Blog project board on GitHub
Writers can select a topic from the blog’s existing backlog or propose new ideas during meetings or in Slack. The call is open to both newcomers and writers who have previously contributed to the blog.
