Lucas Radke has announced the 2025 WordPress Hosting Survey, calling on web hosting providers to share how they support and manage WordPress sites. This survey, which was last done in 2023, will now be an annual effort to keep track of changes in WordPress hosting.
The Aim
This survey evaluates hosting providers on customer experience, technical skills, support, transparency, and their role in WordPress’s long-term growth, as highlighted, “ This survey aims to evaluate hosting companies based on their customer experience, technical capabilities, support quality, transparency, and alignment with the WordPress project’s long-term success.”
The survey seeks input on multiple areas, including:
- Information about he company, such as the founding year, size.
- Details about the tech stack and tools being used.
- Implemented security measures in place.
- WordPress-specific features like default installer, upgrades, and so on.
- Customer support channels, response times, and more.
- Information regarding the eCommerce and other features, such as staging environments, various integrations, and customizations.Â
Apart from making the survey an annual one from this year onwards, another important change is that this year’s survey will publish a detailed report containing raw data as stated, “ New this year: the results will be published in a full report, which will include the raw survey data, trends, and insights…”
Hosting providers can take the survey online or upload their responses by completing the spreadsheet template that is provided. The survey will remain open until October 15, 2025.
