WP Accessibility Day Launches Fundraiser for Hosting Booth at WordCamp Europe 2026

  • News

WP Accessibility Day has announced a fundraising campaign to support the hosting of an editor-level booth at WordCamp Europe 2026, scheduled to take place from June 4–6, 2026. The initiative aims to establish a dedicated space focused on WordPress accessibility during the three-day event.

The campaign has set a goal of raising $30,000 to cover the cost of the booth space, printed educational materials, and travel expenses for WP Accessibility Day board members.

What the Booth Will Provide

They will offer free accessibility checks and guidance to attendees on improving their websites, themes, and plugins. Alongside this, they will also inform the WordPress community about the European Accessibility Act and how it affects site owners, developers, and agencies, and also aim to raise awareness about WP Accessibility Day and its free conference.

The booth will be managed by WP Accessibility Day board members along with volunteers from the WordPress accessibility community. A designated accessibility help desk will also be set up at the booth, where attendees can receive free one-on-one assistance from accessibility specialists, as stated, “ The booth will provide a dedicated spot for an accessibility help desk (a.k.a. happiness bar), where attendees can get free 1-on-1 support from accessibility experts.”

In addition, printed materials will be distributed covering the European Accessibility Act, its impact on WordPress websites, suggested resources for improving accessibility, and information on how to participate in or attend WordPress Accessibility Day 2026.

Also, those who contribute can decide whether their donation should be applied to the WP Accessibility Day 2026 conference or refunded if the fundraising goal is not met.
