Jetpack Launches ‘Write Brief with AI’ for WordPress.com Users

  • News

After the release of Jetpack AI Assistant last year, Jetpack has announced the launch of a new AI-powered writing tool “Write Brief with AI, designed to help WordPress.com users enhance their writing directly within the WordPress block editor. Currently available in beta, “Write Brief with AI” is free for all WordPress.com users who have Jetpack plugin version 13.7 or higher.

Write Brief with AI: From Hack Week Project to Global Release

Senior Product Designer at Automattic, Noam Almosnino, revealed that the Jetpack AI team had been toying with the idea of a tool that could integrate with the WordPress editor and facilitate clear and concise communication at Automattic. The answer was Write Brief with AI. “Internally, we called this tool Breve—Latin for “brief.” It started as a hack week project and caught on across the entire company. In fact, we saw just how useful and beloved it quickly became and decided to release it into the world.”, he said.

Write Brief with AI is fully integrated within the WordPress editor, allowing users to write, edit, and publish content without leaving their familiar workspace. To start using the tool, users simply need to click the Jetpack icon at the top right of their screen and Write Brief with AI will begin enhancing their writing based on the options selected in the sidebar.

Write Brief with AI has four key features in this release:

  • Calculate readability grade score, helping users target the optimal readability range of 8-12.
  • Identify long-winded sentences and offer simplification suggestions.
  • Flag words that sound uncertain and boost a confident tone.
  • Highlight complex words and simplify vocabulary.

Unlike Jetpack AI Assistant, which limits users to 20 free requests, Write Brief with AI is currently unlimited in usage and is available only in English. However, plans are in place to support additional languages in future updates.
