The Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship for WordCamp US 2025 is now accepting applications, with the deadline set for July 25, 2025. Established in 2015 in honour of Kim Parsell, the scholarship was originally awarded to a female WordPress contributor who had never attended WordCamp US and required financial assistance. Following a recent decision by the WordPress Foundation Board, the scholarship has now been extended to also support attendance at WordCamp Europe and WordCamp Asia.
The Eligibility Criteria
For 2025, only one recipient will be selected for the scholarship. To be eligible, applicants must identify as women, be active contributors to the WordPress project, have never previously attended WordCamp US, and require financial assistance to participate in the event. The scholarship will cover expenses for the event ticket, round-trip airfare, and accommodation throughout the duration of WordCamp.
Applicants can expect to be informed of the final decision by August 7, 2025.
