- Gutenberg 15.3 has been released: It tightens up the site editing experience, adds a new “Time to Read” block for adding estimated read time to posts, and a number of Duotone enhancements.
- WordPress 6.2 RC 1 released and ready for testing: Plugin and theme developers are advised to test their extensions for compatibility and update the “Tested up to” version in their readme files to 6.2.
- WordPress 6.2 field guide is out: Helpful for WordPress developers, extenders and others to find the in-depth changes that you will find in 6.2.
- Launching the Contributor Working Group: Hari Shankar has requested for volunteers to start building the proposed mentorship program using the contributor working group.
- Google to unify GA4 & Google Ads conversion windows: Google Ads will use Google Analytics 4’s conversion window settings starting March 31 to ensure consistent reporting.

🔥WordPress 6.2 Features
- The HTML API in WordPress 6.2: WP_HTML_Tag_Processor is a tool for block authors to adjust HTML tag attributes in block markup within PHP. It’s the first component in a new HTML processing API.
- Block Inspector Tabs: The new Block Inspector tabs help organize and delineate the design tools within the Block Inspector sidebar.
- Sticky position block support: For themes using the
appearanceToolsfeature intheme.json, the Group block will now be able to be set to “sticky”. - Upgrading to React 18: WordPress 6.2 ships with version 18 of React, the JavaScript library used to build the Block Editor and all custom blocks.

- Patchstack tracks 328% more security bugs reported in WordPress plugins in 2022: Similar to previous years, the majority of these security bugs were found in plugins (93%), followed by themes (6.7%), and WordPress core (0.6%).
- WP Statistics WordPress Plugin patches CSRF vulnerability: The WP Statistics plugin was found to contain a Cross-Site Request Forgery vulnerability that could allow an attacker to compromise a website by activating or deactivating plugins.

- Automattic acquires ActivityPub plugin for WordPress: They acquired it from German developer Matthias Pfefferle, who will be joining Automattic.
