Preparations for WordCamp Asia 2026 are underway, and the organizing team has officially announced the opening of volunteer and sponsor applications for the flagship event, scheduled to take place at Jio World Convention Center, Mumbai, India, from April 9 to 11, 2026.
Call for Volunteers
There are several volunteer roles available across various departments. These include:
- Room Staff: This includes Hall Leads, Time Keepers, Runners, and Speaker Support. They will oversee the coordination and smooth flow of sessions within conference halls. Their responsibilities include managing schedules, assisting speakers, and ensuring that all activities run on time and according to plan.
- Attendee Services: Includes roles such as Registration Lead, Registration Support, Lunch Support, Swag Station Support, Accessibility Support, and Information, Lost and Found Desk. They will focus on assisting attendees throughout the event. Their responsibilities include managing registration and check-ins, guiding participants to sessions and food areas, distributing event swag, and so on.
- Media & Communications: The team consists of Media Support and Social Media Handler roles. Volunteers in this area will help coordinate interviews, maintain the press room, and support media partners. They will also share real-time updates, photos, and videos across WordCamp Asia’s social media channels.
- Session Staff: The team includes Contributor Day Help Staff and Interactive Program Support members. Their responsibilities include helping contributors with setup and technical requirements, guiding participants during Contributor Day, and supporting workshops and community programs such as KidsCamp and WP Café.
- Sponsor Services: The role will focus on assisting event sponsors throughout the conference. Their responsibilities include checking in with sponsors and addressing any on-site needs.
- Volunteers & Team Services: The volunteers in this role will focus on assisting and supporting other volunteers throughout the event.
Separate calls for photography volunteers and emcees will be announced later. The last date to apply is December 07, 2025.
Call for Sponsors
Sponsorship applications for WordCamp Asia 2026 are open until December 15, 2025. The event offers seven distinct sponsorship tiers:
- Super Admin: Six slots are available at $40,000 each. This flagship tier offers an extra-large booth, logo placement on event signage and swag, stage mentions, a 60-second video advert, and access to dedicated Career and Social Corners. Sponsors also receive 10 staff tickets and 10 social night seats.
- Administrator: Eight slots are available at $30,000 each. This tier provides a large booth, prominent logo placement, a 30-second video advert, stage mentions, and access to Career and Social Corners. Sponsors receive 8 staff tickets and 8 social night seats.
- Editor: Ten slots are available at $20,000 each. With a medium booth and medium logo placement, and so on. This package also includes 6 staff tickets and 6 social night seats.
- Author: Twelve slots are available at $15,000 each. This tier offers a regular booth, logo placement, shared access to Career and Social Corners, and 4 staff tickets with 4 social night seats.
- Contributor: Fifteen slots are available at $10,000 each. The package offers a small booth, small logo placement, shared access to Career and Social Corners, and 3 staff tickets with 3 social night seats, and so on.
- Subscriber: Twenty slots are available at $5,000 each. To be eligible for this category, your company must generate revenue mainly from the WordPress ecosystem or similar open-source technologies, with projected revenue for FY 2025 under USD 1 million and a team of fewer than 50 employees. This tier includes a tiny booth, logo placement, shared Career and Social Corner access, 2 staff tickets, and 2 social night seats.
- Viewer: Twenty-five slots are available at $2,500 each. To be eligible for this category, companies should be generating their revenue mainly from the WordPress ecosystem or similar open-source technologies, with projected revenue for FY 2025 under USD 100,000. This package includes a nano booth, nano logo placement, grouped social media mentions, 1 staff ticket, and 1 social night seat.
