WordCamp Asia is back for its fourth edition, and this time it’s heading to Mumbai, India, scheduled to take place from April 9–11, 2026, at the Jio World Convention Centre. Now the organizing team has opened the call for speakers for WordCamp Asia 2026.

The Various Session Formats

WordCamp Asia 2026 will run over three days, with two full days dedicated to talks and workshops. All sessions must adhere to the WordCamp Code of Conduct. There are four formats of talks you can apply to, and they are:

  • Lightning Talks (15 minutes): Short, focused talks with no Q&A from the audience side.
  • Regular Talks ( 40 minutes): 30 minutes is for the talk, and the remaining 10 minutes for a Q&A session. These sessions offer detailed insights, walkthroughs, or case studies.
  • Joint Sessions (40 minutes): They follow the same format as regular talks but are ideal when there are two speakers.
  • Hands-On Workshops (90 minutes to half-day): Interactive, practical sessions with demos and exercises.

Get Involved as a Speaker

The team is looking for a wide mix of topics, including WordPress and other web-related topics, as highlighted, “ We’re open to a wide range of WordPress and web-related topics, from development to design, business to community, strategy to storytelling. All sessions should benefit the audience. Kindly avoid repetitions of previous sessions.”

Organizers have highlighted some areas they’d like to see, while noting these are only suggestions. It includes topics that will cover areas such as AI, business, marketing, growth, community building, design, development, and even workshops.

First-time speakers are also encouraged to apply. Interested folks can submit two proposals, and applicants can also choose to be considered as backup speakers, without affecting their chances of being selected for the main lineup.

WordCamp Asia also actively welcomes speakers from underrepresented groups. Initiatives like the Diverse Speaker Training group, which offers workshops, and there is also a  Diverse Speaker support group where selected speakers can get in touch with experienced WordCamp speaker mentors. The Underrepresented Speaker Support Program, which helps reduce financial barriers, is also a part of the effort to ensure broader representation.

The application is open until Oct 31, 2025, and selected applicants will be notified by mid-November 2025.
