- Gutenberg 12.9 is out: This release brings over many features that enable both theme developers and website administrators more control over what is editable and presented to users.
- WordPress 5.9.3 Release Candidate 1 is available: It features 9 bug fixes on Core, as well as 9 bug fixes for the Block Editor.
- WordPress.com makes major unannounced pricing changes: WP.com has changed pricing from five plans to two plans, and slashed storage on the free tier from 3GB to 500MB.
- Text selection across multiple blocks is coming to WordPress: The new feature does not do away with the ability to partially select text across multiple blocks and manipulate them as a group.
- Enabling WebP by default: This proposal seeks to integrate WebP by default into WordPress core. The WordPress developer community has responded negatively against the proposal because it will cause a massive increase in disk space usage. WP Tavern too has taken a look into the proposal.

- Google expands Markdown support for Google Docs: In Google Docs, you can now select “Automatically detect Markdown” from Tools > Preferences to enable auto correcting for Markdown syntax.
- Google announced two new features for US-based English language searchers: One is a feature to show a highly cited label in the Top Stories results and the other is improving the about this result feature for rapidly evolving topics.
- New Google search label for highly cited sources: A new label in Google Search will help people identify webpages that are highly cited sources of information. The label will appear next to pages in Top Stories.
- Google expands Trusted Store Badge to free shopping listings: The coveted Google Trusted Store badge is now available on free product listings.
- Google’s Privacy Sandbox ad technology testing begins: Developers will gain access to Privacy Sandbox’s newest measurement proposals: Topics, FLEDGE and Attribution Reporting. They are the replacement for the beleaguered FLoC initiative that was killed off back in January.
- Google Ads Editor v2.0 is out: This release adds support for Performance Max campaigns, conversion goals, and more.

- Google introduces Retail Search for eCommerce sites: Google Cloud has announced the release of Retail Search, a tool designed to give retailers the capabilities of Google’s search engine on their own domains.
- YouTube to drop Maximize Lift bidding: Google will be ending support for Maximize Lift bidding for YouTube, the company said, leaving a TrueView, in-stream ads option behind as YouTube continues to enhance its ad offerings.

- Vulnerabilities in Spam protection, AntiSpam, FireWall plugin by CleanTalk: These reflected Cross-Site scripting vulnerabilities that could be used for site takeover if an attacker could successfully trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking a link.
- Advanced Custom Fields plugin vulnerabilities: The plugin does not have proper authorisation which could allow users with a role as low as a contributor to view information on the database without access permission.
- Google Ads latency issue confirmed with ad reviews: Google said this is impacting a significant subset of users specific to Responsive search ads (RSAs).
- Facebook paid GOP firm to malign TikTok: Meta Platform is reportedly involved in paying one of the largest Republican consulting firms in the US to carve out a nationwide campaign aiming at turning citizens against TikTok.
- Facebook confirms ‘massive ranking failure’: After Meta’s smear campaign against rival social network TikTok, it has been confirmed that Facebook was showing harmful content to users over a period of six months. A bug allowed Facebook posts with nudity, violence, Russian propaganda to appear in users’ news feeds.
- A sinister way to beat multifactor authentication is on the rise: Lapsus$ and the group behind the SolarWinds hack have utilized prompt bombing to defeat weaker MFA protections in recent months.
