- WordPress 6.1.1 RC1 is now available: It features 28 fixes on Core as well as 18 fixes for the Block Editor. WordPress 6.1.1 will be released on November 15.
- Gutenberg 14.5 has been released: The highlight of this release is the new “Document Overview” panel, which combines what was previously found under separate icons in the Editor toolbar under “List View” and “Details.”

- Google rolls out ad frequency targeting for YouTube campaigns: With the rollout of target frequency, Google is giving advertisers more control over the number of times people see their ads on YouTube.
- Instagram lets users schedule posts & reels in the app: Instagram users with professional accounts can schedule posts and reels up to 75 days in advance directly from the mobile app.
- TikTok has launched an in-app ecommerce feature: TikTok has launched TikTok Shop, where users can now make purchases directly through the app. It is currently inviting select U.S. businesses to participate in the initiative.
- Twitter fires 80% of contractor employees with no formal notice: There are reports that approximately 4,400 contract employees out of 5,500 were laid off by Twitter. Senior executives who are core to Twitter’s functioning resigned while Musk reportedly says bankruptcy isn’t out of the question. Meanwhile in a survey conducted by Search Engine Journal on the #LeaveTwitter movement, the majority of the 1,500 combined responses across LinkedIn and Twitter pointed towards the majority not leaving Twitter. Also a new “Official” label was announced and then removed less than 24 hours later.

- Russian hacktivist group targets political websites with DDOS attacks: A Russian hacktivist group calling itself “The People’s Cyberarmy” called on its members to target the American Democratic party website at https://democrats.org with DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks.
- Missing Authorization vulnerability in Blog2Social plugin: Vulnerable versions of the plugin make it possible for authenticated attackers with minimal permissions, such as subscribers, to change the plugin’s settings.
- Vulnerabilities discovered in five WooCommerce WordPress plugins: The plugins are Advanced Order Export for WooCommerce, Advanced Dynamic Pricing plugin for WooCommerce, Advanced Coupons for WooCommerce Coupons, WooCommerce Dropshipping and Role Based Pricing for WooCommerce.
- Google Business Profiles bug causing reviews to disappear: A bug with automatically applied suggested edits leads to some businesses seeing all their reviews vanish from Google.
- GitHub introduces private vulnerability reporting for public repositories: The new private vulnerability reporting capability enables repository maintainers to allow security researchers to report to them any vulnerabilities identified in their code.
- New vulnerability in popular widget shows risks of third-party code: Successful exploitation of this vulnerability found in accessibility widget by EqualWeb, could allow malicious actors to impersonate a user and take over a user’s account, perform any action on behalf of the user and or steal sensitive information such as cookies and session tokens.
