- Critical RCE flaw reported in Spotify’s backstage software catalog and developer platform: An unauthenticated threat actor can execute arbitrary system commands on a Backstage application by exploiting a vm2 sandbox escape in the Scaffolder core plugin.
- Firefox 107 patches high-impact vulnerabilities: The high-impact flaws include issues that could lead to information disclosure, fullscreen notification bypass that could be used for spoofing attacks, and crashes or arbitrary code execution resulting from use-after-free bugs.
- Instagram credential phishing attacks bypass Microsoft Email security: A credential phishing attack reportedly targeted 22,000 students at national educational institutions with a campaign impersonating Instagram.
- Meta reportedly fires dozens of employees for hijacking users’ Facebook and Instagram accounts: Included among those fired were contractors who worked as security guards at the social media firm’s facilities and were given access to an internal tool that allowed employees to help “users they know” gain access to accounts after forgetting their passwords.

- Jetpack Search adds free tier and a 3-month free trial: The new free tier and free trials enable prospective customers to try out the functionality on their sites before committing to a new annual subscription.
- Divi 5.0 aims to bring greater compatibility with Gutenberg: One of the most notable changes coming in 5.0 is that Divi will be migrating away from shortcodes and to a new JSON format that is similar to the way Gutenberg stores data.
