  • WP20 & Audrey Scholars: Matt Mullenweg on the 20th anniversary of WordPress has officially launched the Audrey Scholars Program. • Building Blocks: The evolution of WordPress: The second edition documenting WordPress growth from 2013-2023 is now available to the general public. The series of documents covers the changes to the software and almost everything that WordPress faced, overcame, and much more.

  • WordPress and Drupal Co-Founders Discuss Open Source, AI, and the Future of the Web: The private event brought the founders together for the first time. The areas of discussion were the benefits of open-source collaboration and also how AI is changing the developer experience.
  • WordPress 6.2 Server Performance Analysis Summary: The WordPress 6.2 performance analysis report is now live and the results are promising. The report show improved template loading and rendering for classic themes, improved rendering of block widgets, and so on.
  • Core Editor Improvement: Smoother Site Editing: Automattic sponsored contributor Anne McCarthy summarises the key areas of feedback that have been raised over the months and years with the FSE Outreach Program, particularly around revisions and the ability to preview themes.
  • A glimpse into Gutenberg 15.9: Luis Herranz, an Automattic-sponsored contributor on Twitter gave us a glimpse into the new features we can expect with Gutenberg 15.9.
  • Design Share: May 8—May 19:  The design team has shared an update on a few projects they have worked on over the past couple of weeks.
  • Summary: Curating the Editor and building block themes for clients: A quick summary of the Hallway Hangout that was attended by 40 community members is now live. Also, the focus area for the next Hallway Hangout has also been proposed and will most probably be on building block themes.
  • Bringing the power of AI to Windows 11: Incorporating AI into Windows 11 will bring a host of features such as co-pilot, extending Bing chat plugins to Windows,  a new Dev Home, and many more useful features.
