- Bug Scrub Schedule for WordPress 6.3: The bug scrub schedule for WordPress 6.3 will start with the Alpha bug scrubs on May 25, 2023.
- New curation filter in pattern directory: The pattern directory now has a new filter that allows switching between core-bundled patterns (“Curated”) and the general community patterns.
- Learners can now submit feedback when completing a course: In an attempt to further improve the effectiveness of courses that will be available on Learn.WordPress, feedback is being collected from users every time they finish a course.
- Hallway hangout: Let’s chat about WordPress 6.3 and block theming: The topic of discussion for the next hallway hangout will be about building block themes with a special focus on enhancements coming in WordPress 6.3 and those planned for 6.4.
- FSE program rapid revamp summary: An update on the FSE program rapid revamp has been published and the feedback mostly centered on iterating upon block theme previewing, improving template vs content editing clarity, confusion around which revision tool to use, and so on.
- Updates to the Community Team Mentor Program: An update on the progress of changes to the community team mentor program has been published.

- Critical security update: Directorist WordPress plugin patches two high-risk vulnerabilities: An arbitrary user password reset to privilege escalation, and an insecure direct object reference leading to arbitrary post-deletion vulnerabilities were recently patched and users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version.
- New Magecart-style campaign abusing legitimate websites to attack others: Akamai researchers have uncovered a new campaign where attackers “hijack” legitimate websites to act as a makeshift command and control (C2) servers.
- Wordfence intelligence weekly WordPress vulnerability report (May 29, 2023 to June 4, 2023): 116 vulnerabilities were disclosed in 88 WordPress Plugins and in 3 WordPress themes.

- Oxygen 4.7 beta 1 now available: The release includes a CodeMirror upgrade, auto-complete For CSS, JS, and HTML, code Folding, mixed code view for code blocks, and full search/replace operations.
- Demand for WordPress and WooCommerce has grown: The latest post from Ellipsis shows demand for WordPress is up by 11.3% over the last 12 months and demand WooCommerce is up by 1%.
