WordCamp Asia 2025: Where and When It’s Happening

WordCamp Asia 2025 will take place in vibrant Manila, Philippines, from February 20-22, 2025. The event will be hosted at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), which is located at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Pasay.

The venue is Asia’s first international convention center and is located near Manila Bay and consists of five building components— the Delegation Building, Secretariat Building, Plenary Hall, Reception Hall, and The Forum, extending over 70,000 square meters of floor area. There’s also an APEC Sculpture Garden, which consists of 20 sculptures, each representing the 20 APEC member economies.

The PICC has hosted several prominent events in the past, such as the Miss Universe Pageant, APEC Summit, ASEAN Summit, and more. The venue also houses several artworks from prominent Filipino artists.

Essential Travel Arrangements You Should Know

WordCamp Asia 2025 has published the visa requirements early on to avoid any last-minute hassles. The visa process will vary depending on your nationality, as citizens of 157 countries can enter the Philippines visa-free for tourism or business purposes. This type of entry allows individuals to stay for a maximum of 30 days.

Individuals from countries that require a visa for mandatory entry into the Philippines can opt for a tourist, business, or special visa. Regardless of whether you require a visa, your passport should remain valid for at least six months.

The currency of the Philippines is the peso, so make sure to exchange it beforehand. Also, carry an international debit/credit card with you.

DICT Endorses WordCamp Asia 2025

Even before the start of the event, WordCamp Asia 2025 has seen great achievements, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) endorsing it is one of them. The endorsement emphasizes the Philippine government’s support for the ICT sector and open-source innovation and is also a testament to the role WordCamps plays in bringing people together.
