- WP 6.0 Separator block: Updated to use block supports color settings: To allow the setting of a custom opacity for each block, the Separator block has been updated to use the block that supports color settings. There is also Block markup updates for image, quote, list and group blocks
- Global Styles variations in WordPress 6.0: Theme authors can now create multiple theme.json variations and place them into their themeโs /styles folder. From there, users can switch between the various presets to something that suits them best.
- Ulysses App updates WordPress publishing to use WP REST API: Ulysses, a writing app for Mac, iPad, and iPhone, has released version 26. It adds support for more blogs and has simplified the process of setting them up using the WordPress REST API.
- TikTok has a new way for advertisers reach users: The newest addition to advertisers is called TikTok Pulse: a way for brands to help be part of the everyday moments and culture that the community engages in.
- Google deprecates some image and video sitemap extensions: The deprecated tags and attributes will have no effect after August 6, 2022
- DMCA request removes Moz from Google Search index: A nightmare for most SEOs and site owners that should not have happened.
- Google blocked 3.4 billion ads, suspended 5.6 million accounts in 2021: The top three categories of bad ads were abusing the ad network (652 million); adult content (287 million); and trademark (137 million).
- Noto emoji from Google: It is a new black and white emoji font with less color
- Google shares sneak peek at new advertising features: In advance of the Google Marketing Live conference on May 24, Google previews new features rolling out to advertisers.
- Apple, Google, and Microsoft team up to vanquish the password: Later this year you will be able to sign in to your various web accounts across the internet without using a password in all the major browsers.

- HubSpot WordPress plugin vulnerability: HubSpot WordPress Plugin, used by over 200,000 publishers, patched a Server Side Request Forgery vulnerability
- WooCommerce Credit Card skimmers concealed in fake images: Sucuri team has noticed an increase in WooCommerce credit card skimmers on client sites over the past few years
- Google releases Android update to patch actively exploited vulnerability: Google has released monthly security patches for Android with fixes for 37 flaws across different components, one of which is a fix for an actively exploited Linux kernel vulnerability.
- Cisco warns of critical vulnerability in virtualised network software: Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Cisco’s Enterprise NFV Infrastructure Software. Cisco has issued free software updates that address these vulnerabilities and said there are no workarounds.
- Avast, AVG release security updates for decade-old vulnerability: The vulnerabilities were exploitable in contexts beyond just local privilege escalation, could have been used as part of a second stage browser attack or to perform a sandbox escape.
- Apple Silicon exclusively hit with world-first “Augury” DMP vulnerability: The vulnerability could allow attackers to siphon off “at rest” data, meaning the data doesn’t even need to be accessed by the processing cores to be exposed. Apple is fully aware of the issue but hasn’t shared plans for whether or not they’ll deploy mitigations.
- OpenSea warns of Discord channel compromise: Thereโs a โpotential vulnerabilityโ which allowed spambots to post phishing links to other users. A problem that lead OpenSea Support to declare โplease do not click any links in the Discord.โ
- Cloudways cloud platform service affected: Last week Cloudways faced a DNS resolution issue affecting some clients using default URL’s. The issue was later resolved.
