- WordCamp Europe 2025 scheduled for next June in Basel, Switzerland: Basel, Switzerland, has been selected as the host city for WordCamp Europe 2025, scheduled from June 5 to 7. The announcement was made at the conclusion of WC Europe 2024 in Torino, Italy. Switzerland, despite its small size, boasts a remarkable density of official WordPress meetup groups — 15 groups for its 8.85 million inhabitants, equating to one group per 590,000 people, the highest per capita globally.
- WordPress 6.6 Beta 2 released: The beta 2 is now available for testing. We can expect Beta 3 later today.
- Data Views update – June 2024: Anne McCarthy has provided an update on the Data Views features, which refers to an improved and reusable UI for different screens in WordPress that deal with collections of things whether that’s templates, patterns, posts, media, and more.
- WordPress Contributor Mentorship Program Q4 2024: Call for interest: An early interest form for the Q4 2024 WordPress Contributor Mentorship Program Cohort is now live. This program connects seasoned WordPress experts with newcomers, offering a fantastic opportunity for mentees to gain hands-on experience contributing to WordPress, while mentors share their expertise and improve their leadership skills. The deadline for applications is on July 15, 2024.
